Course DescriptionsThis course introduces the fundamentals of applying artificial intelligence (AI) in bioinformatics. You’ll explore how AI, machine learning (ML), deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) are used to design and discover drugs and model complex biological systems. You’ll learn how to collect, analyse, and visualise bioinformatics data from public resources, and apply AI to interpret biological processes. The course covers AI applications such as genome sequencing, protein function prediction, and gene expression analysis, helping you understand how AI provides statistical insights in research. You’ll also develop practical skills in data analytics, feature engineering, and feature learning, building a toolkit for bioinformatics work.
